First names Out Loud festival

Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday in June, summer bursts through the clouds on Beursschouwburg's rooftop.

Thursday, May 12, 2022 — The free music festival will be kicked off on 2 June by The Zangles, seven female egos with big ideas and a lot of song. Will it be a musical? Will it be a tombola? Nobody knows! Percussionist, sound artist and visual artist from Philadelphia NAH will provide an exciting aftermath. On the following festival days, Echoes of Zoo with Brussels multi-instrumentalist Nathan Daems, Vitja Pauwels who makes his guitar interact with electronics, Alto Fuero aka Victoria Palacios & Loto Retina, and ugne&maria who bring downtempo experimental techno. Nose Job programmed Catherine Danger. Vieze Meisje brings pop, performance, humour and rave in one act, Shoko Igarashi makes you dream away with ambient compositions on saxophone.

After a period in which international tours were almost impossible, the Beursschouwburg is now fortunately welcoming a number of artists from abroad, including the Indonesians of Gabber Modus Operandi and Uwalmassa, the Jamaican dancehall collective Equiknoxx, the Canadian electro-house duo Pelada and the South African art-rock band BLK JKS.
