Beursschouwburg Expo: Hans Demeulenaere & Emi Kodama - You make a better door than you do a window

Hans Demeulenaere and Emi Kodama welcome you to their interpretation of ‘a home’, a place where memory and imagination are given ample time and space.

For this exhibition, Hans and Emi will create a number of  installations and sculptures that refer to domesticity. The work of Hans is based on existing situations and objects, creating a dialogue between architecture, design and visual art. Emi's work will include a performance that links recollections of her childhood home to the history and spaces of the Beursschouwburg, as well as to the work of Hans. Her cinematic tale takes us on a journey through situations that are at once both enjoyable and alienating.

The visitor will experience You make a better door than you do a window as an exhibition in which we connect associative memories of different homes and periods in time with one another. Both artists awaken our imaginations, helping to fill the blind spaces in our memories.

Opening on Friday, February 5, 7 pm, as part of the opening weekend of You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet. 
Opening hours: 6.02 - 30.04. We. - Fr., 12 pm - 6 pm. Sa., 12 pm - 7 pm. Free entrance.  

Every Saturday between 15:00 en 19:00 the expo will be activated by different performers.

Performance by Emi Kodama on the following days:: Th. 25.02, Fr. 11.03, Fr. 1.04, Fr 29.04 - at 7:30 pm, prior to a screening of a performance in de Gouden Zaal.
